In 2024, Walk MS released a new participant experience! Components include The Center, Why I Walk, Circles of Support, and Complete the Circle. Volunteer responsibilities will include set up and tear down, managing supplies during the event, greeting guests as they arrive and helping them interact with the activities.

As the name suggests, these volunteers are available to "float around" to whatever role is needed at any given time throughout the event. The true Jacks-of-all-Trades of Walk MS, these volunteers come through in the clutch when we really need them! 

The Top Fundraiser Area is a VIP experience for participants and teams who fundraised the highest amounts for Walk MS in 2025. Volunteers will support check-in, a photo area, and the food and beverage area of the Top Fundraiser Area.

Registration and information volunteers assist staff with welcoming participants, looking-up participant name, confirming information and giving numbered packet to participant(s). This role may involve taking fundraising donations, so a background check is required. This is a seated opportunity.

Volunteers may be asked to support others areas of the event after registration has ended.

SAG Driver: Shuttle participants along the route. If driving your own vehicle, proof of current driver's license, automobile insurance is required. *Completed Safety Training and Background check required for all drivers and navigators. 

First Aid Volunteers are CPR/First Aid certified individuals, not required to be licensed medical professionals such as EMTs, EMS personnel, who provide basic first aid to event participants at designated support locations, including the start/finish area and stations along the route.

Route marking volunteers will then remove the arrows at the end of the walk, unless otherwise noted.

Responsibilities include picking up trash, taking down decorations, signage and banners, breaking down tents, tables, and chairs, organizing and loading supplies, and anything else needed to ensure the walk site is cleaned and cleared.

Heavy lifting up to 50lbs may be necessary, but non-heavy lifting tasks are also available.

We're looking for volunteers to support Walk MS as First Aid volunteers. These can be anyone who has a current First Aid/CPR certification within the past two years, and they provide first aid to participants for minor injuries as needed (ex. small cuts, minor dehydration symptoms, strained muscles). Professional EMTs are on-site for any emergencies beyond a minor injury. 

First Aid volunteers may be asked to assist with other volunteer areas during the event as needed.
