**This is one of our most crucial roles to fill!! Shifts available Friday (pre-event) and Saturday Morning**

Welcoming participants, looking-up participant name, confirming information and giving numbered packet to participant(s), taking fundraising donations and more. (Background check required for volunteers handling donations)

Setting up/tearing down packet pick up event area, organizing supplies, passing out participant packets, t-shirts, goodie bags, and other information, providing excellent customer service, assisting Society staff as needed. 

Are you the designated host of your friends and family? Then this opportunity is for you! Work with MS Society staff and catering to set up food and beverages for participants. Tasks involve setting up, tearing down food area, keeping the area clean and stocked, serving guests, and informing staff of any needed supplies.

Welcoming participants and directing them to the appropriate areas at the event site, answering  questions as needed, ensuring registration lines are moving quickly and that participants have all necessary materials completed before they get to the front of the line

Motorcycle Marshals provide motorcycle escort support along the route to troubleshoot problems and ensure rider safety. When needed, they respond to emergencies and traffic situations.

Responsibilities may include: Starting the Tour on Days 1 and 2; monitoring the flow of riders; communicating with Tour officials via the command center or net control; and handling minor incidents.

*Motorcycle Marshals must have a valid motorcycle driver's license and proof of insurance covering the motorcycle to be ridden in Bike MS. 

Like bicycle riders, all Motorcycle Marshals are required to wear a helmet. Current policy does not allow trikes or any other motorcycle variations with more than two wheels; sidecars; or trailers towed behind the motorcycle. Motorcycle Marshals are encouraged to be active amateur radio operators with VHF/UHF HAM radio capability on the motorcycle and a cellular phone for backup communications.

Greet cyclists and give them their participant medal, direct them to provided information on the MS Society's Mission and resources.

**Recommended to have prior knowledge of MS/The MS Society but not required if you are willing to do some research ahead of time or quickly on the spot with our staff :)**

The volunteer assistant helps the MS Society Staff Volunteer Specialist to greet volunteers, help them register if they have not already done so, check their waiver,give them their volunteer shirt, and direct them to their role. 

Volunteer will drive a shuttle van to shuttle riders to and from various locations on route.

**Must be 25 years or older with a valid drivers license and clean driving record. Driver safety training and background check required (paid for by the MS Society)**

Volunteer will drive a box truck to shuttle bikes to and from various locations on route. Must be an extremely cautious driver with experience driving large vehicles.

Shuttle participants along the route, reporting into net control for any needed medical or gear support. Brings minor repair and first aid supplies in vehicle (supplied by us). Must be a safe, cautious driver, over 25 years old with a clean driving record. If you drive your own vehicle you will receive a gas card to cover expenses, and some rental cars will be available.

Proof of current driver's license and automobile insurance required. Background check required (paid for by the Society).** Indicate if HAM Radio operator.

The best seat in the house! Our Rest Stops are our mini tailgates on route, a spot to take a breather and soak up the shade and the shared community. Anything provided to riders is also provided to volunteers.The following are examples of what rest stop volunteers will be doing:

Tasks include decorating, restocking, providing great customer service, and checking on access credentials for our top fundraisers.

Keep our participants hydrated in the Arizona desert, greet cyclists and change out water jugs as needed.

We Welcome Volunteers of All Abilities, Anyone Can Volunteer!

Families, corporate groups, and individuals of all ages and abilities are welcome to volunteer. We are always looking for youth clubs, and corporate and service-oriented community groups to lend a hand before, during, and after our events. Whether you’re living with MS and just want to say thank you at the Finish Line, or you’re ready to help with set up, there’s a place for you at Bike MS!

When you volunteer, you become part of the MS movement – a community of passionate individuals working together to create a world free of MS. Together, we provide support, have fun, and make a difference for the nearly 1 million people living with MS in the United States. 

Volunteer Activities Include but are not limited to: Setting up the site, registration, greeters, passing out t-shirts, working with our VIP cyclists, organizing the food service area, handing out food to cyclists, cheering at the finish, tear down and assisting with various tasks as needed, etc.  

Volunteer will drive a golf cart to shuttle riders to the showers.

Cleaning up the event site, taking down decorations, signage and banners, breaking down tents, tables, and chairs, organizing and loading  supplies (heavy lifting required ≤50lbs)

Helping staff with various tasks throughout the event, tearing down event site, communicating with other volunteers,  filling in for others on an "as needs" basis (lifting may be required)
