Volunteers assisting in set up will help with the following tasks: Unloading and distributing supplies, setting up tents, tables, and chairs, hanging banners and signage, decorating tents and tables (heavy lifting required ≤50lbs)

First Aid Volunteers consists of certified medical professionals (EMT, EMS, RN, etc) who administer First-Aid to event participants at designated location(s).

Using personal photography equipment, capture event including team photos, start & finish line photos, route photos, & festival area photos. Volunteer Photographers are expected to share full rights to digital media with the MS Society in-kind. 

Greeters will assist in welcoming participants and directing them to the appropriate areas at the event site, answering questions as needed, ensuring registration lines are moving quickly and that participants have all necessary materials completed before they get to the front of the line

The Volunteer Lead creates a working infrastructure throughout the event.

Key Responsibilities include:
• Collaborate with Staff and logistics company (where available) to gain full understanding of volunteer needs
• Run event volunteer check-in and direct volunteers to areas in need
• Manage large groups of volunteers in multiple locations
• Serve as liaison between Staff and volunteers on event weekend

Volunteers assisting in Registration will help with the following tasks:

Greeting and checking-in walk participants, collecting pledge envelopes and donations, providing general event information. (additional training may be required) (Background check required for volunteers handling donations)

Setting up/breaking down area with appropriate supplies, managing the area during the event which may include passing out bandanas, Society print materials, speaking to constituents about MS Society. Usually staffed with at least one Staff member.

Setting up/taking down Circles of Support tent, set up and manage circle fans and offer instruction to participants on what they represent and how to use during the Program

Setting up/breaking down area with appropriate supplies, managing the area during the event which may include passing out bandanas, Society print materials, speaking to constituents about MS Society. Usually staffed with at least one Staff member.

  Volunteers will provide excellent customer service and registration services for Top Fundraisers. This includes:

Welcomes Top Fundraisers into the TFA Area.  Provides information and answers general questions.

Stationed at the Top Fundraiser area to assist participants with photos.  You will be using the participant's personal photography equipment or cell phone. 

Are you an early riser with a passion for transforming spaces? We're searching for enthusiastic individuals to be the backbone of our events - the unsung heroes of set-up! This isn't your average volunteer gig; it's a chance to be the mastermind behind the scenes, crafting an experience that attendees will remember.

Responsibilities include: Marking event route with signage to indicate the direction participants should follow. Often this task is completed in collaboration with a staff member, committee member, or another volunteer utilizing a vehicle or golf cart.

The Circles of Support are a new interactive activity to go along with the new Walk MS experience! These volunteers will wander through the event site with baskets of the circle fans, passing them out to participants who need them. You will also help them understand what each circle represents and how to use them during the program.

Volunteers assisting in the Food and Beverage Team will help with the following tasks:  Setting up and organizing food service area, handing out food to participants, cleaning up area and putting away supplies.  *Basic and safe food preparation and handling is required and volunteers will be provided handwashing station/gloves, etc. 

Duties Include:

Setting up/taking down hydration area. Welcoming and encouraging/congratulating participants, handing out beverages,  icing down beverages and replenishing supplies as needed, keeping hydration area clean. 

Do you enjoy cheering others on?  Be part of the Spirit Team who stand at the finish line to cheer on participants, using noise makers, handing out medals/mementos, often these volunteers are asked to bring encouraging signs or cheering swag from home to the event.

Volunteers assisting in the Event Tear Down Team will help with the following tasks:  Cleaning up the event site, taking down decorations, signage and banners, breaking down tents, tables, and chairs, organizing and loading  supplies (heavy lifting required ≤50lbs)

Route Unmarking Assistant: Unmarking event route with signage to indicate the direction participants should follow. Often this task is completed in collaboration with a staff, committee member, or another volunteer utilizing a vehicle or golf cart.
