Welcoming participants, looking-up participant name, confirming information and giving numbered packet to participant(s), taking fundraising donations and more.

*Background check required as this position may involve handling donations

Ride Marshals are representatives of the National MS Society acting as both Good Will Ambassadors and Safety Ambassadors for the Bike MS rides and Recommended Rides. As Good Will Ambassadors, Ride Marshals should be prepared to answer general questions about the Bike MS ride or Recommended Ride they are supporting. As Safety Ambassadors, Ride Marshals share cycling advice and encourage safe cycling behaviors on the route. Ride Marshals may also perform the role of first responders at accident scenes along routes and identify unsafe cyclists to ride officials. In addition, Ride Marshals often provide basic assistance to riders who may experience problems, such as flat tires, along the route.

Checking in volunteers, ensuring paperwork is turned in and volunteers receive a t-shirt and instructions for their volunteer shift.

Amateur radio operators are assigned to several different groups or stationed at different locations along the route. This is a one- or two-day commitment, depending on your location.

Final directions and hours will be provided the Wednesday before event date. 

The Support & Gear (SAG) Volunteers drive in vehicles on route to provide support, transport riders back to start when needed, communicate incidents with staff, and more. Schedule is subject to change based on need.

Setting up/tearing down registration event area, organizing supplies, checking off participants names, collecting registration forms if required, collect donations, welcoming participants, providing excellent customer service, and assisting Society staff as needed. *Must complete a background check and 18 years or older to process donations.

First Aid Volunteers consists of certified medical professionals (EMT, EMS, RN, etc) who administer First-Aid to event participants.

Selling jersey's, welcoming, and speaking with riders. Setting up/breaking down area with appropriate supplies, managing the mission area during the event which may include disseminating Society print materials, speaking to constituents about MS Society. This area may include community focused areas or mission focused areas like "Wall of Hope," "I ride for"/"I walk for" bibs or similar collateral, may vary by market.
