Volunteers assisting in set up will help with the following tasks:

Unloading and distributing suppliessetting up tents, tables, and chairshanging banners and signagedecorating tents and tables (heavy lifting required ≤50lbs)

Duties Include:

Working with Volunteer Lead checking in volunteersensuring paperwork is turned in and volunteers receive a t-shirt and instructions for their volunteer shift.  Should be comfortable managing Volunteer Tent if Lead should need to leave or on a break.

 

 

Volunteers assisting in Registration will help with the following tasks: 

Welcoming participantslooking-up participant nameconfirming informationanswering questions

Volunteers assisting in T-Shirt Distribution team will help with the following tasks: 

Organizing supplies and shirts by size and typehanding out shirts to qualifying participantskeeping area tidyproviding excellent customer service. 

Hydration Station volunteers are responsible for: 

Setting up/taking down hydration area. Welcoming and encouraging/congratulating participantsserving beveragesicing down beveragesreplenishing supplies as neededkeeping hydration area clean. 

 

Volunteers at The Center will assist with:

setting up/breaking down area with appropriate suppliesmanaging the area during the event which may include passing out bandanas, Society print materials, speaking to constituents about MS Society.

The Center is usually staffed with at least one Staff member as well.

Food & Beverage Team volunteers will help with the following tasks: 

Setting up/taking down the food and beverage areasetting out water and other beveragesserving coffee where applicable (if not self-serve) laying out snacksKeeping area clean.

Duties Include:

Setting up/taking down Complete the Circle interactive graphicSetting up and managing circle stickersoffering instruction to participants on how to fill out and apply circle stickers to graphic. 

 

Volunteers in the tent will be:

setting up/taking down Circles of Support tentsetting up and managing circle fansoffering instruction to participants on what they represent and how to use during the Program.

 

Duties Include:

Setting up/taking down the food and beverage area Providing an elevated food and beverage experience to TFssetting out water and other beveragesserving coffee ( if not self-serve) laying out snacks. Keeping area clean.

 

  Volunteers will provide excellent customer service and registration services for Top Fundraisers. This includes:

setting up/breaking down TFA Registrationproviding check in and registration serviceshanding out credentialsanswering questions.

Duties Include:

Helping staff with various tasks throughout the eventsetting up/tearing down event sitecommunicating with other volunteersemptying trash and recycles binsgenerally keeping area clean and safe filling in for others on an "as needs" basis (lifting may be required).

Duties Include:

Welcoming participants and directing them to the appropriate areas at the event siteanswering questions as needed ensuring registration lines are moving quickly and that participants have all necessary materials completed before they get to the front of the line

 

 

Duties Include:

Directing participants at key locations on the route to ensure the walk route is followed correctly and safely.

 

Welcomes Top Fundraisers into the TFA Area.  Provides information and answers general questions.

 

 

Duties Include:

Assisting photographers with set upgathering participantsusing props or signsstaging photosreminding participants to use appropriate tags for social media, etc.

 

Duties include:

Using personal photography equipment (can be a cell phone)capturing event including team photos, start & finish line photos, sponsors, route photos, & festival area photos. Volunteer Photographers are expected to share full rights to digital media with the MS Society in-kind within 2 weeks of the event taking place.  Does not need to be a professional photographer. Shot lists will be shared.

Do you enjoy cheering others on?  Be part of the Spirit Team who stand at the finish line to cheer on participants, using noise makers, handing out medals/mementos, often these volunteers are asked to bring encouraging signs(either pre-prepared or from home) or cheering swag (available at volunteer tent)
