Unloading and distributing supplies, setting up tents, tables, and chairs, hanging banners and signage, decorating tents and tables, route marking. This position requires heavy lifting up to 50lbs.

Friday and Saturday shifts

Welcoming participants, looking-up participant name, handing out t-shirts, confirming information and giving numbered packet to participant(s), taking fundraising donations and more. 

This position requires a background check. After you respond to this volunteer role, your volunteer engagement team member will reach out with further instructions.

Setting up and organizing food service area, handing out food and drinks to participants, cleaning up area and putting away supplies.  *Basic and safe food preparation and handling is required, and volunteers will be provided handwashing station/gloves, etc. 

Setting up/taking down the rest stop site, serving food and beverages and providing excellent customer service to participants, encouraging walkers as they arrive and leave the rest stop. Occasional lifting may be required.

Dressing up, waving flags, signs, and noise makers is encouraged

Setting up/taking down Complete the Circle interactive graphic, set up and manage circle stickers and offer instruction to participants on how to fill out and apply circle stickers to graphic.

New area that will feature participant walking bibs for personalization. Used to be called "I Walk for" bibs and was often a part of Registration. Volunteers in the area will need to spot check supplies.

TENT - Setting up/taking down Circles of Support tent, set up and manage circle fans and offer instruction to participants on what they represent and how to use during the Program. 

ROAMERS - Roam the site with baskets of Circle of Support circle fans, passing out to all participants and explaining what they are and how to use during the Program.

Setting up/breaking down area with appropriate supplies, managing the mission area during the event which may include deseminating Society print materials, speaking to constituents about MS Society. This area may include community focused areas or mission focused areas like "Wall of Hope," "I ride for"/"I walk for" bibs or similar collateral, may vary by market.

First Aid Volunteers consists of certified medical professionals or first aid/CPR certified (EMT, EMS, RN, first aid certified etc.) who administer First-Aid to event participants. The support locations include rest stops, lunch, overnight, finish, and along the route. 

Standing at the finish line to cheer on participants, using noise makers, handing out medals/mementos, often these volunteers are asked to bring encouraging signs or cheering swag from home to the event.

Activities include: Helping staff with various tasks throughout the event, setting up/tearing down event site, communicating with other volunteers,  filling in for others on an "as needs" basis (lifting may be required)

Using personal photography equipment, capture event including team photos, start & finish line photos, route photos, & festival area photos. Volunteer Photographers are expected to share full rights to digital media with the MS Society in-kind. 

Cleaning up the event site, taking down decorations, signage and banners, breaking down tents, tables, and chairs, organizing and loading supplies, unmarking route (heavy lifting may be required ≤50lbs)
