Responsibilities/ Requirements may Include some or all of the following:
- Providing motorcycle escort support along the route to troubleshoot problems and ensure rider safety
- (when needed) responding to emergencies and traffic situations
- Starting the Tour on Days 1 and/or 2
- Monitoring the flow of riders
- Communicating with Tour officials via the command center or net control
- Handling minor incidents
*All Motorcycle Marshals are required to wear a helmet and may not participate while towing a trailer
*Encouraged to be active amateur radio operators with VHF/UHF HAM radio
capability on the motorcycle and a cellular phone for backup communications.
*Motorcycle Marshals must have a valid motorcycle driver's license and proof of insurance covering the motorcycle to be ridden in Bike MS. Both must be sent to the MS Society in advance of your shift.
*HAM license and the ability to operate from your motorcycle are encouraged.
