Utilizing a golf cart, shuttle participants along the route as needed. Must have a valid drivers license. 16+ years old

Welcoming participants, looking-up participant name, confirming information and taking fundraising donations and more. (Must be 18+ Background check required due to donation handling)

Setting up/taking down the site (may include tents, tables, chairs, and additional support
uploading the supply truck), running hydration area (may include mixing sports beverages where applicable), serving food to participants (single serve where possible); encouraged to bring decorations and signs to cheer on riders as they enter/exit your stop.

Route marking volunteers arrive early to mark the route with directional arrows, usually on a bicycle or with two people in a car. Routes are marked at all intersections and at all turns. Some walks offer two routes and arrows will be different colors. Volunteers should be familiar with the area and able to follow written directions and route map. Route marking volunteers will then remove the arrows at the end of the walk, unless otherwise noted. 

Event Greeters: First impressions are important! Greet walkers and welcome participants as they arrive, answer basic questions about the walk site and event (materials will be provided), and help direct walker traffic to appropriate areas (registration area, team tents, rest rooms, etc.). 

Spirit Team: You are here to motivate, encourage, and congratulate participants on their achievements! Using provided supplies (or your own), cheer on participants at the start, finish, and along the route. 

Setting up/taking down the food and beverage area, set out water and other beverages, serve coffee where applicable (if not self-serve) lay out snacks. Keep area clean.

First Aid Volunteers are CPR/First Aid certified individuals and do not have to be licensed medical professionals (EMT, EMS, RN, etc) but they can be, when available. They administer First-Aid to event participants. The support locations can include start/finish, and along the route.

Shuttle participants along the route. Must be 16+, possess a valid driver's license , no background or safety training required but prior knowledge of how to drive a golf cart helpful.

The Stage Manager must be organized and able to communicate effectively with the event Host, Honoree and their Circle of Support representatives, and the A/V Team. Previous experience in event management is preferred. This role could also be a staff member or contracted individual. See complete job description for scope of work.

Volunteer Photographers are expected to share full rights to digital media with the MS Society in-kind within 2 weeks of the event taking place.  Does not need to be a professional photographer. Shot lists will be shared.

Setting up/breaking down area with appropriate supplies, managing the area during the event which may include passing out bandanas, Society print materials, speaking to constituents about MS Society. Usually staffed with at least one Staff member.

New area that will feature participant walking bibs for personalization. Used to be called "I Walk for" bibs and was often a part of Registration. Volunteers in the area will need to spot check supplies.

Setting up/taking down Complete the Circle interactive graphic, set up and manage circle stickers and offer instruction to participants on how to fill out and apply circle stickers to graphic.

Setting up/taking down Circles of Support tent, set up and manage circle fans and offer instruction to participants on what they represent and how to use during the Program.

Emptying trash and recycles bins, picking up trash and generally keeping area clean and safe. Restock water and ice. Periodic checks on portos that they have toilet paper, etc.

Helping staff with various tasks throughout the event, setting up/tearing down event site, communicating with other volunteers,  filling in for others on an "as needs" basis (lifting may be required)

Working with Volunteer Lead - checking in volunteers, ensuring paperwork is turned in and volunteers receive a t-shirt and instructions for their volunteer shift.  Should be comfortable managing Volunteer Tent if Lead should need to leave or on a break.

Using personal equipment or participants phone/camera, this volunteer is in charge of helping people capture their teams and other photos needed in the Top Fundraiser Area. This volunteer should be flexible and may ask to help with other tasks within the Top Fundraiser area too. 

Setting up/taking down the food and beverage area. Provide an elevated food and beverage experience to TFs, set out water and other beverages, serve coffee ( if not self-serve) lay out snacks. Keep area clean.

Route Unmarking Assistant: Assist a staff member with unmarking event route with signage to indicate the direction participants should follow. Often this task is completed in collaboration with a staff, committee member, or another volunteer utilizing a vehicle or golf cart.

Act as good-will and safety ambassadors. Help support or direct walkers to ensure they are following route correctly or provide assistance where needed.

Assist participants with individual and group photos using the provided props. Encourage them to come into the photo area or take props into the nearby VIP tent to take photos. You will not be provided with a camera so participants will need to use their own phones. You are welcome (encouraged even) to take photos on your own device and share them with staff after the event.

Responsibilities include picking up trash, taking down decorations, signage and banners, breaking down tents, tables, and chairs, organizing and loading supplies, and anything else needed to ensure the walk site is cleaned and cleared. Heavy lifting up to 50lbs may be necessary, but non-heavy lifting tasks are also available.
