Medical Volunteers provide basic first-aid support for participants and call in any more serious injuries to the appropriate number. Generally serve as general rest stop volunteer support during downtime.

**Active CPR/First aid certificate required**

Responsibilities include:

*Report to lunch stop @ Concordia Elementary School to receive materials including a cooler with drinks and umbrellas for shade (if needed)

As a set-up volunteer, you will be assisting with the unloading of items, hanging banners, setting tables and chairs, etc. Please note that some lifting will be required.

Checking in volunteers, ensuring paperwork is turned in and volunteers receive a t-shirt and instructions for their volunteer shift.

Standing at the finish line to cheer on participants, using noise makers, handing out medals/mementos, often these volunteers are asked to bring encouraging signs or cheering swag from home to the event. May be asked to help with other tasks during downtime but not required. 

**There are shifts on Saturday & Sunday so please make sure you choose the correct shift**

Setting up bike racks, checking that bikes leaving match bib number of rider, ensuring cyclists receive great customer service.

Welcoming participants, ensuring luggage is properly tagged, checking participants' luggage in/out of secured area, lifting and moving duffle bags, tents, coolers and luggage cases, providing excellent customer service. (lifting required ≤ 20 lbs.)

Helping staff with various tasks throughout the event, setting up/tearing down event site, communicating with other volunteers,  filling in for others on an "as needs" basis (lifting may be required)

You will be responsible for taking pictures of cyclists at the Carlsbad site including the start/finish line, rider area, VIP area, etc. Must be able to share all file photos post event.

The information & medals tent volunteer assists staff by providing event information to guests, assisting with registration, handing out medals, restocking supplies, and providing directions to guests. Outgoing personality & good sense of direction encouraged :)

Setting up/breaking down area with appropriate supplies and managing the mission area during the event. This may include disseminating Society print materials and speaking to constituents about the MS Society. This area may include community focused area or mission focused areas like "I Ride For" bibs. This is a seated opportunity!

Volunteer massage therapists must provide a digital copy of their massage licensure and insurance. If the team of therapists are all covered under one insurance umbrella (a company, etc.) then a copy of that policy will suffice. Massage therapists use touch to treat and alleviate participants’ injuries and fatigue as well as promote general wellness.
