Setting up/taking down Circles of Support tent, set up and manage circle fans and offer instruction to participants on what they represent and how to use during the Program. Take inventory post event of circle fans.

Roam the site with baskets of Circle of Support circle fans, passing out to all participants and explaining what they are and how to use during the Program. Best recruits for this role are outgoing and love talking with participants.

Provides high-level of customer service and registration services for Top Fundraisers. Includes setting up/breaking down TFA Check-in, providing check in and registration services, answer questions.

Welcomes Top Fundraisers into the TFA Area. Provides information and able to answer general questions.

Stationed at the step-and-repeat display to assist TF participants take photos. Can use their personal photography equipment, cell phone or participants cell phone. If more than one in TFA area, can take candid photos around the area.

Setting up/taking down the food and beverage area. Provide an elevated food and beverage experience to TFs, set out water and other beverages, serve coffee (if not self-serve) lay out snacks. Keep area clean.

Helping staff with various tasks throughout the event, setting up/tearing down event site, communicating with other volunteers, emptying trash and recycles bins and generally keeping area clean and safe filling in for others on an "as needs" basis (lifting may be required).

Unmarking and cleaning up route of signage after event concludes. Often this task is completed in collaboration with a staff, committee member, or another volunteer utilizing a vehicle or gold cart.

Cleaning up the event site, taking down decorations, signage and banners, breaking down tents, tables, and chairs, organizing and loading supplies on trucks (heavy lifting required ≤50lbs)

Welcoming participants and directing them to the appropriate areas at the event site, answering questions as needed, ensuring registration lines are moving quickly and that participants have all necessary materials completed before they get to the front of the line.

Assisting photographers with set up, gathering participants, using props or signs, staging photos, reminding participants to use appropriate tags for social media, etc.

Directing participants at key locations on the route to ensure the walk route is followed correctly and safely.

Standing at the finish line to cheer on participants, using noise makers, handing out medals/mementos, often these volunteers are asked to bring encouraging signs(either pre-prepared or from home) or cheering swag (available at volunteer tent)

Not required but spirit team generally cheers on participants at start, then helps with teardown/other misc. tasks while walkers are out, then return to finish line to cheer on participants again.

SAG VAN DRIVERS 

Special Assistance Group (SAG) Vans transport cyclists who are unable to ride to the next rest stop (or to lunch or finish). This volunteer position supports the ACC Texas MS 150 as the official event SAG support team, and does not support a specific team, individual, or interest group. This is approximately a 20-40 hour commitment. Time includes mandatory meetings, training, rental pick-up the Friday before the event/rental drop-off (potentially Monday after the event), as well as SAG duties during the event. 

SAG Drivers are required to meet two requirements set by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society: (1) Pass a criminal background check (2) Pass a Motor Vehicle Record screening.

SAG Drivers must have average visual acuity; the ability to drive a large 15-passenger van through tight rider/pedestrian areas; possess the ability to lift up to 40 pounds, such as large bicycle. It is important that SAG drivers practice patience and are able to handle high-pressure situations. SAG drivers are required to have a second person (navigator) who is the co-pilot assisting the driver with directions, a second set of eyes and interact with passengers. Loading bikes is also a duty for Navigators. There is a maximum of two volunteers per van. SAG volunteers must be able to work from 5:30 or 6:30 a.m. to close of the course each day that they are committed to unless otherwise stated.

Special Assistance Group (SAG) box/bus combination vehicles transport cyclists from rest stop to rest stop or can transport cyclists and their bikes to lunch or finish. These volunteer positions support the ACC Texas MS 150 as the official event SAG support team, and do not support a specific team, individual, or interest group. This is approximately a 40-hour commitment. Time includes mandatory meetings, training and rental pick-up the Friday before the event/rental drop-off the Monday after event weekend. Plus, SAG duties Saturday and Sunday of the event. 
 
School buses are operated by a company and are paired with box trucks which are driven and navigated by volunteers. Box truck drivers are required to meet three requirements set by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society: (1) Pass a criminal background check (2) Pass a Motor Vehicle Record screening (3) view an online driver safety training course. 

Box Truck Drivers must have average visual acuity; the ability to drive a large 15-passenger van through tight rider/pedestrian areas; possess the ability to lift up to 40 pounds, such as large bicycle. It is important that SAG drivers practice patience and are able to handle high-pressure situations. 

SAG Box Truck Navigators are the co-pilots assisting the driver with directions, and loading bikes.

Thank you for volunteering as a Ride Marshal (RM) for the 2026 Texas MS 150.

Registration for the Ride Marshal program does not constitute registration for Bike MS: ACC Texas MS 150. You will still be required to register for the 2026 ACC Texas MS 150 at the main event webpage.

Please note that all Ride Marshals are required to have a current CPR/First Aid Certification.  We will provide classes to you to obtain or renew your certification.

All New Ride Marshals are required to attend an all-day Ride Marshal training class, which includes an online component to be completed before you attend the course.  We will provide you with the details once we have confirmed your registration.

Welcome to the Texas MS 150 Bike Medic Program!

A bike medic is a volunteer rider who provides medical assistance along the route on Days 1 and 2. The level of care will usually be BLS, but can include BTLS and ALS. Other duties may include traffic control, minor bike repairs and rider information.

To be eligible to serve as a volunteer on the Texas MS150 Bike Medic team, one must hold a current and valid medical certification in at least one of the following disciplines…

 “MD, PA, NP, RN, LVN, Lic-P, EMT-P, AEMT, EMT-B, or ECA.”

Communication is via cell phone to the ride's Command Center. A special rider jersey will be issued.

Welcome to the Texas MS 150 Bike Police Program!

Bike Police are volunteer riders and a certified law enforcement officers who serves along the route implementing safety protocol, directs traffic and assists other cyclists when needed.

These special volunteers will receive a distinctive POLICE BIB # for the ride and may be called upon for assistance at any time along the route. Assistance may be needed for any riders, EMS officials, event officials or other law enforcement officers working the route. While it's not mandated to ride both days, it's greatly appreciated if possible. 

Amateur Radio Operator (This includes SAG Stops, Rest Stops, Starts, Lunch, Finish, Event Officials, Route Monitors, Command Post, Others. --- SAGs should use the appropriate link in the above list to complete their volunteer registration)

Welcome to the ACC Texas MS 150 Motorcycle Marshal Program!

The ACC Texas MS 150 Motorcycle Marshals play a critical role in the safety and success of the event.  The primary mission of the Motorcycle Marshals is monitoring the welfare of bicycle riders along the route, rendering aid to riders in distress, and, and alerting the Command Post of more serious cases.  Additionally, Motorcycle Marshals provide communications, alert the MS Command Post about accidents or other hazards on the route, and other duties as needed. Many Motorcycle Marshals help bicycle riders change flat tires and other minor bicycle repairs.  

Motorcycle Marshals must be at least 25 years old, have a valid drivers license with a motorcycle endorsement, and proof of insurance covering the motorcycle to be ridden in the Texas MS 150.  They should be an active rider for the past two years with at least 5000 miles riding experience.  Motorcycle Marshals often ride at low speeds (15-20 mph) in close proximity to bicycles, so good motorcycle handling skills at these speeds are essential. An MSF course or equivalent is required.

The National MS Society will require all motorcycle volunteers submit copy of vehicle insurance and copy of operator's driver license.

Motorcycle Marshals are required to wear DOT approved helmets while on the ride and may only ride solo.  Motorcycles ride in close proximity to bicycles, so trikes, sidecars, or any other motorcycle variation with more than two wheels is not allowed, nor are trailers towed behind the motorcycle. 

Part of our mission is to help provide the bicycle riders with an enjoyable experience.  Most riders do not appreciate extremely loud pipes during their ride, so we do our best to accommodate this.  Stock pipes are fine, but extremely loud pipes are not welcome on bicycle rides.
