Area that will feature participant walking bibs for personalization. Used to be called "I Walk for" bibs and was often a part of Registration. Volunteers in the area will need to spot check supplies. Excellent role for MS Ambassadors.

Working with Volunteer Lead - checking in volunteers, ensuring paperwork is turned in and volunteers receive a t-shirt and instructions for their volunteer shift. Should be comfortable managing Volunteer Tent if Lead should need to leave or on a break.

Support the Walk MS volunteer experience by helping fellow volunteers get checked in and oriented. With guidance from an NMSS staff member, this role involves greeting volunteers as they arrive, making sure they check in, receive a volunteer t-shirt, and understand their responsibilities for their shift. 

Walkers need to stay hydrated on the route! Support them by working at the water stop, making sure there is plenty of water available for any participants who need it. Help setup, staff the water stop, and cleanup at the end of the event.

Support NMSS staff members in the registration and information area to help participants feel welcome and prepared for Walk MS. Help get walkers checked-in, oriented, and registered if necessary.

This role may involve accepting donations, so a background check is required.

This one is for the early risers! A crucially important role, this team of volunteers supports NMSS in setting up the Walk site on event day. Route Photographer: Volunteer who is on-route during the event - either walking along or using a golf cart, if available. Photos will focus on participants, large group shots,, etc.

Top Fundraiser Area Photographer: Stationed at the step-and-repeat display to assist TF participants take photos. Can use their personal photography equipment, cell phone or participants cell phone. If more than one in TFA area, can take candid photos around the area.

Provides event-specific information, serves as customer service and lost and found. Once Packet Pickup is closed, this area turns into the Medals & T-Shirt Distribution Tent.

Site Set Up: Duties include unloading trucks and distributing supplies, setting up tents, tables, and chairs, hanging banners and signage, decorating tents and tables, and more. This volunteer role is easy to pair with others if you are interested in being involved for the whole day because set up duties are fulfilled once event time rolls around. We ask that most volunteers for this team be able to lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds.

Allenwood Gazebo Rest Stop Crew: Setting up/taking down the site, running hydration/fruit stations, serving food and beverages to participants, providing excellent customer service. (Occasional lifting may be required). 

Each Rest Stop Team will have a LEAD assigned before the event. The Lead will communicate with the VE Lead and/or EP throughout the event and if anything is needed at the rest stop.  They will receive and distribute lunches for volunteers at their stop and stay until breakdown is complete.
