Unloading and distributing supplies, setting up tents, tables, and chairs, hanging banners and signage, decorating tents and tables, route marking (heavy lifting may be required ≤50lbs)

Setting up/breaking down area with appropriate supplies, managing the mission area during the event which may include deseminating Society print materials, speaking to constituents about MS Society. This area may include community focused areas or mission focused areas like "Wall of Hope," "I ride for"/"I walk for" bibs or similar collateral, may vary by market.

Standing at the finish line to cheer on participants, using noise makers, handing out medals/mementos, often these volunteers are asked to bring encouraging signs or cheering swag from home to the event.

Helping staff with various tasks throughout the event, setting up/tearing down event site, communicating with other volunteers,  filling in for others on an "as needs" basis (lifting may be required)

First Aid Volunteers consists of certified medical professionals or first aid certified volunteers (EMT, EMS, RN, CPR certificate etc.) who administer First-Aid to event participants. The support locations include rest stops, lunch, overnight, finish, and along the route. *This volunteer position is not a bike-riding position.

Setting up/taking down the site, serving food and beverages and providing excellent customer service to participants. Occasional lifting may be required. Encourage walkers as the enter and leave the rest stop. 

Costumes, decorations, signs, flags, and noise makers are encouraged. 

Cleaning up the event site, taking down decorations, signage and banners, breaking down tents, tables, and chairs, organizing and loading supplies, clearing route markers and signage. (Heavy lifting may be required ≤50lbs)

The Volunteer Lead creates a working infrastructure throughout the event byserving as the Volunteer Leader. Key Responsibilities include:
• Collaborate with Staff and logistics company (where available) to gain full understanding of volunteer needs
• Run event volunteer check-in and direct volunteers to areas in need
• Manage large groups of volunteers in multiple locations
• Serve as liaison between Staff and volunteers on event weekend
• Assist in identifying event area leads and general event volunteers for each site (starts, rest stops, lunches, overnight, finish) when possible

Pre event training provided. 

Greeting and checking-in walk participants, collecting pledge envelopes and donations, providing general event information, handing out t-shirts. (Additional training may be required) This position requires a background check.

After Registration has finished - You can join the volunteers at the start/Finish line to help cheer on the participants.  

Provides excellent customer service and registration services for Top Fundraisers, includes setting up/breaking down TFA Registration, providing check in and registration services, handing out credentials and t-shirts, answer questions.

Background check required.

Welcomes Top Fundraisers into the TFA Area. Provides information and able to answer general questions..

Setting up/taking down the food and beverage area. Provide an elevated food and beverage experience to TFs, set out water and other beverages, serve coffee (if not self-serve) lay out snacks. Keep area clean.

Emptying trash and recycles bins, picking up trash and generally keeping area clean and safe. Restock water and ice.

TENT - Setting up/taking down Circles of Support tent, set up and manage circle fans and offer instruction to participants on what they represent and how to use during the Program.

ROAMER - Roam the site with baskets of Circle of Support circle fans, passing out to all participants and explaining what they are and how to use during the Program.

Why I walk 

Setting up and organizing food service area, handing out food and drinks to participants, cleaning up area and putting away supplies.  *Basic and safe food preparation and handling is required, and volunteers will be provided handwashing station/gloves, etc. 

Setting up/taking down Complete the Circle interactive graphic, set up and manage circle stickers and offer instruction to participants on how to fill out and apply circle stickers to graphic.

Using personal photography equipment, capture event including team photos, start & finish line photos, route photos, & festival area photos. Volunteer Photographers are expected to share full rights to digital media with the MS Society in-kind.
