Setting up start/finish line site. Set-up tables, chairs, hand signs/banners. Decorate. Set-up barriers and cover with branded signage. Carry heavy bins from trucks to set-up in assigned tents.

Setting up and organizing food service area, handing out food to participants, cleaning up area and putting away supplies.  

First Aid Volunteers consists of certified medical professionals (EMT, EMS, RN, etc.) who administer First-Aid to event participants. The support locations include rest stops, lunch, overnight, finish, and along the route.*This volunteer position is not a bike-riding position.

Motorcycle Marshals provide support along the route to troubleshoot problems and ensure rider safety. When needed, they respond to emergencies and traffic situations. Responsibilities may include: ensuring safe crossing and turns at busy intersections; monitoring the flow of riders; communicating with staff via the command center or net control; and handling minor incidents.

Motorcycle Marshals must provide proof of vehicle insurance.

The Support & Gear (SAG) Volunteers drive in vehicles on route to provide support, transport riders back to start when needed, communicate incidents with staff, and more. Please indicate if HAM Radio operator.

Proof of current driver's license and automobile insurance required. Background check required.

Serve as communication with other SAGs and Net Control. Load/unload bicycles for participants. Please indicate if HAM Radio operator.

Assist staff with checking in volunteers, collecting paperwork, distributing volunteer shirts, and provided any additional instructions from Volunteer Engagement Staff. 

Welcoming participants, looking-up participant name, confirming information and giving numbered packet to participant(s), taking fundraising donations and more.

Using personal photography equipment, capture event including team photos, start & finish line photos, route photos, & festival area photos. Volunteer Photographers are expected to share full rights to digital media with the MS Society in-kind.  Photographers are supplied an approved shot list.

Assists Volunteer Lead with checking in volunteers, ensuring paperwork is turned in, and volunteers receive a t-shirt and instructions for their volunteer shift. 

Standing at the finish line to cheer on participants, using noise makers, handing out medals/mementos, often these volunteers are asked to bring encouraging signs or cheering swag from home to the event.

Provide first aid along the route for the bike event

Setting up and decorating team tents, acting as a concierge for specific teams, providing customer service and information to participants and team captains as needed.

Setting up/breaking down area with appropriate supplies, managing the mission area during the event which may include disseminating Society print materials, speaking to constituents about MS Society. This area may include community focused areas or mission focused areas like "Wall of Hope," "I ride for"/"I walk for" bibs or similar materials.

Assists Volunteer Lead with checking in volunteers, ensuring paperwork is turned in, and volunteers receive a t-shirt and instructions for their volunteer shift. 

Cleaning up the event site, taking down decorations, signage and banners, breaking down tents, tables, and chairs, organizing and loading  supplies.
