Unloading and distributing supplies, setting up tents, tables, and chairs, hanging banners and signage, decorating tents and tables (heavy lifting required ≤50lbs) 

Checking in volunteers, ensuring paperwork is turned in and volunteers receive a t-shirt and instructions for their volunteer shift. 

Welcoming participants, looking-up participant name, confirming information and giving numbered packet to participant(s), taking fundraising donations and more. (Background check required for volunteers handling donations)

Setting up bike racks, checking bikes in/out of secured area, ensuring cyclists receive great customer service.

Greet participants and direct them.

Helping staff with various tasks throughout the event, setting up/tearing down event site, communicating with other volunteers,  filling in for others on an "as needs" basis (lifting may be required)

Hanging banners and signage, decorating tents and tables, putting out trash boxes, setting up snack and beverage area, etc. Make sure festival site stays clean. 

Setting up and organizing food service area, handing out food to participants, cleaning up area and putting away supplies.  *Basic and safe food preparation and handling is required and volunteers will be provided handwashing station/gloves, etc. 

First Aid Volunteers consists of certified medical professionals (EMT, EMS, RN, etc) who administer First-Aid to event participants. The support locations include rest stops, lunch, overnight, finish, and along the route.*This volunteer position is not a bike-riding position.

Using personal photography equipment, capture event including team photos, start & finish line photos, route photos, & festival area photos. Volunteer Photographers are expected to share full rights to digital media with the MS Society in-kind. 

SAG vehicles patrol the routes to provide support to cyclists in distress due to injury, bike failure or exhaustion.

SAG vehicles will be either crew cab pickup trucks or minivans and have a driver and navigator/communicator.  They work under the direction of Net Control.

· Serve as communication hub: Be the communication link between other SAGs and Net Control, fostering smooth coordination and support

· Load/unload bicycles: Provide hands-on assistance by loading and unloading bicycles for participants, contributing to a hassle-free experience

· Ensure effective communication: Prioritize clear and effective communication to facilitate the efficient operation of the SAG team and support participants along the route

SAG vehicles will be either crew cab pickup trucks or minivans and have a driver and navigator/communicator.  They work under the direction of Net Control.

Drivers must be at least 25 years old and be familiar with driving full size pickup truck/van type vehicles.  All volunteers must complete a background check; drivers must provide a copy of their license and insurance certificate (to prove insurability).  Volunteers must attend training.  Vehicles and meals will be provided. 

Volunteers will be in and out of the vehicles frequently during the day and should be able to assist cyclists lifting and securing their bicycles in the vehicle. 

Motorcycle Marshals are another pair of eyes out on route. 

Motorcycle Marshals are encouraged to be active amateur radio operators with VHF/UHF HAM radio capability on the motorcycle and a cellular phone for backup communications. 

Amateur radio operators are assigned to several different groups or stationed at different locations along the route. This is a one- or two-day commitment, depending on your location.

Organize and lead the finish line to cheer on participants, using noise makers, handing out medals/mementos, often these volunteers are asked to bring encouraging signs or cheering swag from home to the event.

Pick up trash around the main site, ensure recycling goes into appropriate bin, spray down the portable toilets.
