Opportunities From: The National Multiple Sclerosis Society

Setting up and organizing food service area, handing out food to participants, cleaning up area and putting away supplies.  *Basic and safe food preparation and handling is required, and volunteers will receive handwashing station/gloves, etc. 

Provides event-specific information, serves as customer service and lost and found. Once Packet Pickup is closed serves as pick up location for Top Fundraiser jerseys and where Friends and Family meal tickets are purchased. (Background check required for volunteers handling money or credit cards)

Helping staff with various tasks throughout the event, setting up/tearing down event site, communicating with other volunteers, filling in for others on an "as needs" basis (lifting may be required)

Area provides the event with an area for riders and guests to educate themseleves on the NMSS Mission as well as provides resources for people living with MS. Duties include, providing educational information, provide information on ways for people to become involved with the MS Society (Upcoming events, volunteer opportunities including MS Ambassadors, POS for previous years jerseys and other swag, a QR code to accept donations, and pickup location for I Ride with MS jerseys . (Background check required for volunteers handling money or donations)

Provide riders quick access to water and electrolytes.

Welcoming participants and directing them to the appropriate areas at the event site, answering questions as needed, ensuring registration lines are moving quickly and that participants have all necessary materials completed before they get to the front of the line

Make sure cyclists enter general parking area safely.

Make sure VIP cyclists enter VIP parking area safely.

Emptying trash and recycles bins, picking up trash and generally keeping area clean and safe. Might also restock water and ice at Hydration Stations as well as the VIP Area (If VIP does not have its own Green Team). Periodic checks on portos that they have toilet paper, etc.

Standing or sitting at the start/finish line to cheer on participants, using noise makers, handing out medals/mementos, often these volunteers are asked to bring encouraging signs or cheering swag from home to the event. Late shifts may be asked to help clear up as the event draws to a close.

Tent adjacent to the Finish Line where participants can pick up their finisher medals

First Aid Volunteers consists of certified medical professionals (EMT, EMS, RN, etc) who administer First-Aid to event participants. The support locations include rest stops, lunch, overnight, finish, and along the route.*This volunteer position is not a bike-riding position.
