Volunteer Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Registration
1. How do I register for Galaxy?
You can register for Galaxy by visiting https://nmss.galaxydigital.com and select the "Volunteer Today" button on the page that displays.
**Please note, a valid email address not previously used to register for Galaxy will be required. Any email address previously used will return an error indicating the email has been used before. The email you use to register cannot be shared by others and must be unique. If you have forgotten your password, you can use the "Forgotten Password" link to reset your Galaxy credentials.
Alternately, you can use Facebook to register! It's super simple and will also import some of the registration info for you!!
Logging In
1. How do I log in to Galaxy?
You can log in to Galaxy by visiting the homepage at https://nmss.galaxydigital.com. Click the "Login" button in the top right hand corner of the page to access the log-in page. You can also register from this page as well.
2. How do I reset my password on Galaxy?
On the Login Page, at the bottom there's link to reset your password.
Finding Opportunities
1. How do I find new opportunities in Galaxy?
Most of the time your volunteer contact at the Society will share a link with you directly for a specific event or volunteer opportunity. You can also browse all the opportunities in your market or nationwide by clicking the Opportunities link on the left hand navigation bar.
2. How do I use the filters in Galaxy to find the Market/Event/Opportunities I desire?
There are many filter types available when searching for events. We suggest filtering by Market, User Group or Distance to find opportunities nearby. You can add additional filters like, Family Friendly, Outdoors, Skill, etc. You can also filter by event, but with so many events happening across the country - we suggest using an event link provided by your volunteer contact or located on your Market page or User Group Resume.
3. How do I access opportunities I've already signed up for in Galaxy?
Galaxy offers a new feature to the Society, the Volunteer Dashboard. From here you can click on your Opportunity Responses to view your upcoming volunteer shifts. Click on the Opportunity Name to view the full details of the opportunity. You can also edit your response, add/submit volunteer hours, Check In/Out of the shift, or unregister from the Options column.
4. Why can I see opportunities across the country? How do I find the ones near me?
Currently, all volunteer opportunities are listed as public. If you're on the opportunities menu or your dashboard, you may see volunteer opportunities in other states/regions. You can filter by distance, or by your market while in the opportunities menu. You can also reach out to your Volunteer Engagement staff member for more guidance. Find your Volunteer Engagement contact by visiting your Market page. Select the Market tab on the left navigation menu and find your market from the list.
